May 16 SHOF: RE-VAMPED! ANNOUNCING OUR ALL NEW CONTEST FORMAT
No More Nominating:
We will post 3 categories and anyone who wishes to enter
the contest may do so by leaving us a comment stating
which category they would like to be entered for.
You will have to leave your name, name of your space
and your url/link as well.
No More Voting:
We will now have our winners chosen by a panel of judges
I've carefully selected the panel of judges based on their honesty, integrity,
reliablity and their long-time presence on Spaces.
All of them have superb spaces and are previous winners here at the Hall of Fame.
The judges will not enter any of our new contests. I'll post the names shortly when the panel is completed.
Our Judges will remain completely impartial and unbiased, and choose a winner based on the quality, and excellence of the
space pertaining to the category it's entered in.
At the end of each contest entry period the judges will make
their decisions on who wins for each of the 3 categories.
Nice, clean, easy, less rules and best of all it eliminates any possibilty for cheating.
We at SHOF want to thank so many of you for your continued comments of support, and participation over the last 4 years,
and we sincerely hope you will enjoy the more stress free and simplified format here.
The next set of categories will be announced soon.

April 07 Space of the Year Nominations  April is the Spaces Hall of Fame 4th year Anniversary
And our 4th annual Space of the Year contest. Which space stands out above the rest?
Which space reflects talent, originality, beauty, and has a consistent high quality?
Nominate the very best for the best award of the year!
Please read the updated rules and info below before nominating.
The rule of limiting any campaigning and asking for votes to ones (nominees) own space
will be in effect for the space of the year competition, and possibly again for any future contests.
In the past we had a couple problems with cheating, so for the few who may become inclined
to break these rules I can tell you that someone always emails me a copy of the private message
or comment sent by someone asking for votes and anyone found to be cheating will
be eliminated from the contest.
Remember there is no honor in winning by cheating! Rules
•The rule of limiting any campaigning and asking for votes to ones (nominees) own space will
be in effect for the space of the year competition, and again for any future contests.
•Only active spaces may be nominated. Potential nominees must have regularly updated their space and posted blogs etc within the last couple months.
•Nominated spaces must fall within the MSN code of conduct guidelines. •Only Public spaces are eligible. Nominations and votes will not be accepted from private spaces.
•If you place a nomination that you later see has been deleted that means either it did not meet the criteria as outlined above, or the person declined the nomination.
•You must include valid urls for yourself and the person you nominate.

As a help to the friends and all people who may visit your spaces please consider limiting your html guestbook modules to 5 comments shown.
When it's more than that the space becomes very difficult to load for many
people who do not have newer more powerful and faster computers.

November 05 SHOF news - NovI’d like to thank everyone for the great comments showing so much support for The Hall of Fame.
Special thanks to Shannon, (crazyshannon) for all the support and hard work she did promoting SHOF.
In honor of Shannon for all she has done to help get people participating at SHOF I’m going to
use her suggestion for the December competition and award both 1st and 2nd place wins in each category.
Since I was away and there was no Contest in November I’ve decided to hold a larger competition
for December with 5 special Christmas categories.
With that being said, the new categories for December will be…

May 15 NEW RULES UPDATEWe've been in the process of making some much needed changes around here.
To give you a quick update the following changes will be in effect beginning in our next contest in June:
1.) * There will be no more campaigning to other spaces allowed.
2.) * Your campaign for votes must be strictly limited to your own space and no others.
3.) * This also means your friends cannot post campaign blogs for you on their spaces.
4.) * NO MORE GOING TO SPACES ASKING FOR VOTES.
5.) * Do not ask for votes by using the new “send a message” option in blogs.
Why the changes?
It’s simple; that is not how the Hall of Fame was meant to be.
The new rule means people have actually seen your space and
decided to vote for it and not just blindly vote because they were
asked to vote in a comment. Also, many people have complained that
they don’t like the practice of being asked for votes in comments.
But remember you can campaign and blog for votes all you like in your own space.
How we try to prevent cheating
We do our best and we visit each voters spaces to find the multiples, but we can’t find them all, some slip through, no system I can find is going to perfect.
-We have IP tracers, this can tell us when the votes are coming from the same person.
-We also have lists of people known to have multiple spaces. We don’t always delete their votes but they are never counted.
